On Saturday, August 2, the Liberty & Justice Movement brought together community members from across state lines for a powerful demonstration of solidarity.
The march began at the Channel Cat Dock at John Deere Commons in Moline, Illinois, and crossed the I-74 pedestrian bridge into Bettendorf, Iowa, where a rally was held at Leach Park. Participants carried signs, chanted, and stood together to send a clear message: We are not going back on civil rights, democracy, or justice.
Along the route and at the rally, speakers addressed the urgent need to defend freedoms, protect marginalized communities, and hold leaders accountable. The crowd was a mix of seasoned activists, first-time protesters, families, and youth leaders, all united in the fight for a more just and equitable future.
The event was marked by strong energy, vibrant signage, and community support, including volunteers who provided water and encouragement along the way. The day closed with a shared commitment to keep organizing, keep resisting, and keep moving forward together.
